Most Notable Projects

+ Ikea Dublin 2011

Project involved a 4,000m2 extension to Ikea. M&N did all bulk excavation (8,000m3) in just over a week. Also pad foundations, watermain, ducting and all associated services and roads (Euro 0.41 Million).

+ IDA Park Letterkenny 2011

Project consisted of a 4.5 Hectare extension to IDA carpark. Again we did bulk excavation, 2,000 m3 rockbreaking, 300 lm of adoptable road, services etc (Euro 0.35 Million).

+ Dublin Zoo, New Gorilla Habitat 2011(Ref Tom Murphy)

Project was to convert a Rhino habitat into a Gorilla habitat -300m RC retaining wall excavation & blinding, extensive earthworks (circa 10,000m3), gorilla holding building of 700m2 (groundworks) and the usual associated services (Euro 0.52 Million).

+ Blue Chip Company, Phase 4, Grange Castle 2012

Project consisted of a 0.5 Hectare extension to an existing Data Storage Facility (I Cloud) in Grange Castle. Again we did bulk excavation of 6,000 m3, Pad/Strip foundations, 800lm drainage, services etc (Euro 0.8 Million).

+ Housing Projects, Rathfarnham & Shankill 2013

These projects together consisted of 60 units. We did the usual reduced level excavation, foundations, access roads, main drainage, watermains, kerbing, footpaths etc. (Euro 0.17 Million)

+ Blue Chip Company, Phase 5, Grange Castle 2013 - 2014

Project is completed and was another phase of the company’s expansion to their Mega Data Storage Facility in Grange Castle.We were the specialist contractor for groundworks on the project with over 35,000 m3 of bulk excavation, Pad/Strip foundations, 1,000 lm drainage, associated services of some 33,000lm etc (Euro 1.8 Million).

+ UCD Science Block 2012 -2014

Project consisted of a 50,000m2 New Science Block in the UCD Campus. Again we did bulk excavation of 4,000 m3, 6,000 lm of services, drainage, new roads etc. The site was on a live campus so conducting work activities in a safe manner was critical. (Euro 0.85 Million)

+ IBM Conversion Project 2013-14

IDA Business Park, Blanchardstown, D 15

Project was to convert an existing manufacturing facility to office space, in a live secure campus environment so H&S was onerous. We did the new drainage, internal and external, pad foundations for new internal mezzanine floor, RC wheelchair escape ramps (fairfaced finishes), RC bunded plinths, foundations and RC support structures for new entrances etc (Euro 0.35 Million).

+ Blue Chip Company, Phase 6 to 11, Grange Castle 2014 to Present

Three phases of the company’s expansion to their Mega Data Storage Facility in Grange Castle are currently running consecutively. Again we are the specialist contractor for groundworks on the project with over 230,000 m3 of bulk excavation, Pad/Strip foundations, 2,600 lm drainage, associated services of some 93,000 lm etc (Euro 6.4 Million).

+ Kevin Street Garda Station Dublin 2015 JJR

Project entailed basement excavation of 7m below street level totalling 18,000m3. Also breaking down Piles and preparing heads for pile caps/slab, together with drainage and services some of which are crossing busy roads (€ 450,000)

+ Charlemont Street Residential Project 2016 JJR

Project involved double basement excavation of 8m below street level totalling 50,000m3, which we exported at a rate of 1,000m3 per day from a busy city centre environment. Also drainage services, ESB Sub-Station etc. (€ 800,000)

+ Greystones Harbour Development, Sisk Co Wicklow

This was a continuation of Greystones Harbour development and consists of new Club houses, 900m of deep drainage (4m), and service tie-ins involving 300m of public road opening with associated SLG measures put in place.
Tricky project due to a large portion of the works being sandwiched between the Public car park and the Public Beach.
Cofferdam
Part of the project involved an 8m deep Cofferdam to allow installation of twin Foul Effluent Holding Tanks 4meters below normal tide levels. M&N co-ordinated and managed the installation of sheet-piles and frames as well as the excavation works.
300m road works
Part of the project consisted of service tie-ins involving 300m of Public Road Opening with associated SLG measures put in place as well as excavating underneath a live Iarann Rod Eireann Railway Bridge
Beach Nourishment Works
Due to coastal erosion, some 5,000m3 of cobbles and shingle were imported and placed as part of a Beach Nourishment Programme (1 Million Euro)

This project is part of the New Luas Extension and consists of 2 new buildings to service the Luas trains which will operate on the newly constructed line. M&N did Pad foundations, drainage, services etc Value 250,000

+ Miesian Plaza Baggot Street Dublin 2 June 2015 to Present

Project is the refurbishment of the old Bank of Ireland HQ and involved extensive excavation works in an extremely confined environment, with the usual drainage and services. A considerable amount of the works had to occur outside normal working hours, due to noise restrictions (€120,000).

+ National Gallery Merrion Square D2 August 2015 to October 2015

Project consists of the refurbishment of a portion of The National Gallery. 150 mts of Deep (4mtrs) Sewer - excavation works including a cofferdam for an Attenuation Tank and connections to live services etc. All within a confined ciy centre location.
